About The Clinician
Valerie earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Baylor University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Throughout her education, she has been deeply involved in community volunteer work, particularly focused on children and families.
Valerie began her journey in high school, volunteering with inner-city kids and later helping adults with disabilities in non-profit settings. After completing her degree at Baylor, she continued her dedication to supporting marginalized communities, particularly children with disabilities and individuals in lower socioeconomic settings. Valerie’s passion for helping those affected by trauma and injustice has shaped her career and the focus of her clinical work.
With extensive experience in both volunteer and professional roles, Valerie has worked in a variety of non-profit organizations. Her main areas of focus include supporting individuals in crisis situations, particularly those affected by trauma, disabilities, and domestic violence. Valerie specializes in helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate these challenging experiences.
Valerie uses a multidimensional approach to therapy, drawing on various therapeutic methods to best support her clients. Valerie believes that trauma-focused therapy is a vital part of the healing process, helping individuals confront and process their experiences at a pace that feels safe and supportive.
Valerie’s ideal clients are children and adolescents, particularly those who have faced trauma or crisis situations. She is equipped to handle severe emotional and psychological challenges caused by trauma, injustice, or disaster.
