About The Clinician

Isaiah earned a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Communications, Public Relations from Bowie State University and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling also from Bowie State University. Isaiah is optimistic for his future and has interest in furthering his education after the completion of his first Master’s Degree.

As a first generation student, Isaiah has been heavily involved in his campus community at Bowie State University, holding multiple positions in the Student Government Association as an undergraduate, as well as being President for a multitude of student created organizations. Isaiah is proud of his past activity in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) chapter of Bowie State University during the early stages of the Richard Collins III Foundation.

Isaiah hopes to focus on self-care, self-awareness, and self-love in his clinical practice. Isaiah is extremely passionate about the powers of exploring emotions and personal growth through creative, and non-verbal expression within his sessions. His approach prioritizes client autonomy, allowing clients to select art mediums and themes, overall empowering them with a sense of self-direction and exploration. Isaiah seeks to create a judgement free environment filled with empathy and support while working with clients to reflect on their creations. Isaiah believes that art serves as a tool for expressing emotions that may be difficult to verbalize, ultimately working towards the goal of helping his clients explore their inner world and strengthen their sense of self in a safe and affirming environment. Isaiah melds the principles of varying fields of psychology to create a holistic and supportive framework for healing through art.

Isaiah’s ideal clients are individuals who welcome the challenges of changing. He primarily works with youth, adolescents, and young adults, but welcomes all to embark on the journey of change alongside him. Isaiah feels the most equipped to handle issues involving post-graduate depression, feelings of isolation, abandonment disorders, family-rooted issues, LGBTQIA+, and African-American social impact. Isaiah is looking forward to expanding his focuses, and obtaining new experiences throughout the duration of his internship.
